Houseman (Pasadena, CA)

We are looking for a reliable, proactive, and multi-skilled Houseman.  This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on variety and can tackle anything from fixing a leaky faucet to keeping the grounds tidy.
If you can unclog a drain in the morning and polish silver by lunch—all while keeping a smile—this might be your gig! The ideal candidate is a true “jack of all trades”, adaptable, and ready to roll up their sleeves to support the smooth running of the home.
Duties to include, but not limited to:
  • Perform minor repairs around the house (e.g., fixing leaky faucets, patching walls, replacing light bulbs, basic carpentry)
  • Clear leaves and keep outdoor areas presentable
  • Drive Principals and family to various locations in a Sprinter van
  • Run household errands (e.g., grocery shopping, picking up dry cleaning, dropping off packages)
  • Wash cars, fuel cars, check oil, or coordinate with mechanics for bigger fixes
  • Help with seasonal tasks like organizing garages, attics, or storage rooms
  • Fix Wi-Fi issues, set up smart home devices, or figure out why the TV remote’s gone rogue
  • Feed, walk, or play with dogs and take them to the groomer
  • Assist with setup/cleanup for small gatherings or events (e.g., moving furniture, setting tables)
  • Handle various tasks as needed—assembling furniture, painting, or getting the grill working again
  • Occasionally travel with family for 6-7 days
This is a full-Time Position:
  • Tuesday–Saturday, 9:00–5:30 PM (40 hours/week)
                                        OR
  • Sunday-Thursday, 1:00-9:00 PM (40 hours/week)
  • $45 hourly
  • Full- benefits
  • Insurance: Dental/Vison/ Medical for you and your dependents
  • 401K
Requirements:
  • Must live within a 20-minute commute of the property
  • Ability to handle a wide range of tasks
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general DIY (you don’t need to be a pro, but you should know a wrench from a hammer)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Flexible schedule
  • Comfortable with smart home systems, phones, or computers
  • Quick to troubleshoot issues, from a squeaky door to a stubborn coffee maker
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and stay active throughout the day
  • Punctual, trustworthy, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Able to take directions from Estate Manager and coordinate with staff
  • Valid license and clean driving record
  • 3+ years in a similar role
  • Must have excellent, verifiable past work references
