House Manager (Manhattan, NY)

Our client in New York is seeking an experienced, high-energy House Manager to provide comprehensive oversight and management of all aspects of the Principal’s personal and household affairs.
Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Oversee and mentor household staff, ensuring they are well-trained and maintaining high service standards
  • Work closely with the Principal’s team, to coordinate various initiatives related to the household and the Principal’s personal or professional life
  • Handle household deliveries
  • Accompanying the Principal on trips as needed, ensuring their comfort and preferences are met
  • Manage household maintenance and upkeep, conducting regular inspections of the residence and household equipment, overseeing repairs, maintenance, and improvements
  • Keep track of household inventories, ensuring the home is always stocked with necessary items
  • Ensure security procedures are followed, oversee the implementation of security procedures in the home, including maintaining security equipment
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors
  • Manage household finances, overseeing the household budget, managing invoices and payments, and liaising with the Principal’s financial advisors as needed
  • Handle all vehicle maintenance and storage needs, as well as coordinating chauffeuring activities
  • Maintain the wine cellar, keeping the wine cellar clean, organized, and up-to-date
  • Carry out confidential errands, handling various confidential tasks and errands as requested
  • Maintain positive and productive relationships, liaising with building management and maintaining professional relationships with neighbors and all third parties associated with the household
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
  • M-F
  • 10 am to 7pm
  • $150k base per year

Requirements, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must have at least three years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent, verifiable past work references
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills, adept at managing multiple tasks, projects, and a team of household staff for smooth and efficient operations
  • Excellent communication is a must, excelling in liaising between many parties and interacting professionally with diverse individuals
  • Problem-solving and financial management skills, proficient in quickly resolving household management issues and competent in managing the household budget, handling invoices, and payments
  • Maintains discretion, and confidentiality, and is flexible. Must be trusted to handle sensitive information and adaptable to changing circumstances and last-minute requests
  • Strong attention to detail, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization in the household, with an understanding of household systems and equipment
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, providing a stabilizing influence in the household
  • Strong event coordination skills, capable of working with multiple vendors and management the flawless execution of an event
  • Bilingual – Spanish (conversational or fluent) preferred
