Our client is looking for a highly trained & educated Fitness Trainer with no ego that is based in Northern or Southern California but available to travel across the US and internationally with the Principal within a highly unpredictable schedule.
The Trainer will deliver highly personalized, evidence-informed fitness training wherever appropriate facilities are available. Help the Principal maintain and improve overall health, strength, mobility, endurance, and physical performance while supporting consistency, injury prevention, and long-term well-being.
The Candidate will ideally be based in Northern or Southern California, though we may also consider New York.
Responsibilities:
· Begin with a thorough consultation to understand the Principal’s goals, needs, current routine, preferences, and relevant limitations
Learn and support the Principal’s established training approach
Make thoughtful, science-based adjustments as appropriate
Prepare the gym before each session by organizing equipment, staging weights and supplies, and confirming the space is ready for immediate use
Provide engaged, hands-on support throughout each workout
Demonstrate exercises, cueing proper form,
Maintain a safe and efficient session flow
Lead appropriate stretching
Provide muscle-release or massage support as needed , only within the trainer’s professional qualifications and scope of practice
Remain available for extensive and frequent domestic and international travel and adapt training sessions to changing schedules, time zones, equipment, and facilities.
Coordinate training plans around the Principal’s itinerary
Travel accompaniment is not required for destinations without an appropriate gym or training facility
Monitor the condition and readiness of fitness equipment and communicate any maintenance, replacement, or supply needs
Maintain strict confidentiality, discretion, professionalism, and respect for the Principal’s privacy at all times
Qualifications:
Educational background in physical fitness, kinesiology, exercise science, or a related field, with a strong understanding of exercise science and safe training practices
Demonstrated experience providing individualized personal training and adapting programs to a client’s goals, routines, preferences, and physical needs
Proactive, service-oriented approach with the ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, and remain actively engaged throughout each session
Highly organized and disciplined in recording workout history, measurements, routines, and progress data accurately and consistently
Knowledge of mobility, stretching, recovery, and muscle-release techniques; any manual bodywork must remain within applicable credentials and professional scope
Exceptional schedule flexibility and ability to travel frequently, domestically and internationally, with the Principal
Strong interpersonal judgment, adaptability, discretion, and ability to work effectively in private environments
Ability to gracefully accept direct feedback
Must be able to handle very sensitive and highly confidential issues with diplomacy and discretion
Ability to demonstrate exercises, remain active throughout training sessions, and safely lift, carry, and position fitness equipment and weights appropriate to the workout
Ability to provide assisted stretching and qualified muscle-release support while maintaining proper body mechanics and client safety
Ability to maintain the physical stamina and mobility necessary to support strength training, cardio, hiking recovery, stretching, and related fitness activities
Ability to undertake frequent domestic and international air and ground travel and work effectively across changing schedules, environments, and time zones
Frequent travel for periods longer than a week will be required depending on the Principal’s schedule. Travel will be at least 50% of the year
Must be authorized to work in the United States and willing to undergo a background investigation consistent with applicable law
