Director of Facilities (Beverly Hills, CA)

Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Facilities who will oversee all facilities operations and capital programming for a UNHW luxury private home.  This role ensures the highest preventative maintenance standards, staffing, capital planning, and project management while ensuring the highest standards of quality and service.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and efficiency of all the residence facility functions
  • Ensure proper staffing levels and skill sets at each property
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and development of engineering teams
  • Work closely with the Family Office team and Director of Residence to create and manage multi-year capital plans, aligning with equipment lifespans, strategic goals, and budgets
  • Implement and maintain a detailed reporting matrix on the current maintenance status
  • Develop and deliver hands-on training and personnel development for the facilities team to enhance their skills and knowledge in maintenance, safety, systems, and new technologies
  • Oversee projects such as equipment upgrades
  • Evaluate the performance of the facilities team, providing feedback and implementing improvement plans as needed
  • Identify and implement new technologies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs
  • Ensure that current systems are fully utilized and maintained
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring high- quality services and cost-effective solutions
This is a full-time position:
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as the operation requires.

Requirements:
  • Hospitality Engineering background
  • Leadership experience of a minimum of 10 years in engineering, preferably within a UHNW context
  • Must have UHNW Private Residence experience
  • Practical, solid hands-on experience and can-do attitude to troubleshoot and fix items as required
  • Able to work flexible hours based on operational needs
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment with a high degree of discretion and confidentiality
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, and vendor management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a timely manner, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a self-managed team environment
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Understand and manage plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Must be hands-on, able to work alongside the facilities team as required, and coaching and mentoring them
  • Experience and understanding of home automation systems such as Crestron, Lutron etc.
  • Construction Management Degree/Certificate, highly desired
