House Manager/Personal Assistant (La Jolla, CA)

A busy family of 4 with one cat is seeking a highly-professional and quick-thinking superstar that can multi-task, wear many different hats, and be well-versed at training and managing a team.  This position requires the candidate to be available to travel within the US and internationally, and spend up to three summer months in Montreal.
Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the home
  • Vendor management and oversight
  • Light computer/paperwork
  • Manage household supply inventories
  • Oversee housekeeping staff and manage schedules for deep cleaning projects
  • Manage and coordinate staff schedules for coverage at the residence
  • Liaison with household staff in Montreal to ensure residence is prepared when family arrives there
  • Receive, return, pack and unpack deliveries as needed
  • Work with Chef and staff to support entertaining and events
  • Pack and prepare for family’s travel
  • Welcome guests to the residence and attend to their needs
  • Organize Principal’s closet and bathroom: clothes, shoes, toiletries, beauty products, medicines
  • Anticipate Principal’s needs
  • Launder and put away clothing; changing linens and towels
  • Refresh Principals’ bathrooms and closets periodically throughout the day
  • Set table for meals; clear table after meals and wash dishes after meals
  • Occasional cooking light meals, making juices and smoothies when the Chef no in-residence
  • Heat, plate and serve food when the Chef is not at the residence
This is a Full-Time Position:
  • Sunday llam – 9pm
  • Monday and Wednesday lOam – 9pm
  • Tuesday and Thursday 3pm – 9pm
  • Friday/Saturday OFF (unless needed for babysitting, family birthday)
  • Experienced in managing a busy, active household and staff
  • Possess at least five years relative work experience in a private home
  • Higher education preferred
  • Possess emotional and intellectual stability
