Estate Manager (Palo Alto, CA)

Our client in Palo Alto, California, has an immediate need for an Estate Manager! The EM role exists to minimize the time burden to the Principals of managing their growing domestic team and portfolio of family properties, which may include one or more significant projects at any time. The Principals’ ultimate objective is to enjoy their family properties with minimal time spent on administrative and staff management details.  Please Note: This opportunity is open to candidates who currently live in California.  We will share a detailed job description with candidates who meet the minimum requirements for the role.
Duties include, but not limited to: 
  • Report directly to the Principals
  • Responsible for planning and executing their staff and properties’ overall management and maintenance
  • Coordinate plans and services with numerous internal and external contacts, including the Principal’s family members & guests, family office group & client services, property staff, contractors, vendors, consultants, and counsel as needed
  • Regularly work in the primary residence and will also travel in advance of the family to other homes around the United States
  • Post-COVID, the EM will spend the majority of their time working from the family’s primary residence
This is a full–time position:
  • Requires flexibility for additional days, weekends, and longer hours as mutually agreed
  • 200K-250K | Dependent Upon Experience
  • Healthcare Plan | Employee + Dependents 
Requirements:
  • At least years of estate management experience, ideally in high-end residential homes. 
  • Operational knowledge of residential building systems and components, utility systems, landscape and hardscape
  • Must have excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Must have references that demonstrate commitment, reliability, discretion, and productivity
  • Must be a team player with excellent leadership and delegation skills!
  • Must be able to take instructions as given but must also be proactive and able to work individually, often with little or no supervision
  • Successfully complete an in-depth background investigation
